The only remaining items from the original 1965 structure are the first-floor subfloor, exterior walls and roof beam structure. Everything else was replaced, including the cisterns, during the 2010 rebuild and addition. Had the roof beams needed replacement, that would have been done during the hurricane rebuild but they did not need to be replaced. Hurricane Irma damaged the house in September 2017. The hurricane and imbedded tornadoes tore back the roof and blew out sliding doors and windows in the upstairs. The entire upstairs had to be redone and refurnished because of water and wind damage: all cabinets, furniture, ceiling fans, air conditioners, etc. The downstairs was largely unscathed except for two windows & a sliding door, entry door that were broken by flying debris, a kitchen cabinet door was broken, a large deck awning was torn apart and some damage to deck railing.
